Adam's Run for the RDF

Hi, my name is Adam and I’m participating in my first marathon this October with the goal of raising money for The Rachael Doherty Foundation.

You may be aware that Rachael was diagnosed at the age of 17 with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2004 and bravely fought the disease for eight years. Unfortunately Rachael succumbed to the horrible disease just a few months before her 26th birthday.

Rachael’s story unfortunately is all too common for many young Australians. My goal is to raise in excess of $4000. In doing so WE will be able to help fast-track the trials of the most advanced research available.

Our contribution will help prolong the lives of a loved one.

My training has been tough as I try to get the miles in the legs needed to complete the 42.2 km course. However, the blisters, injuries and early morning runs are nothing compared to the battle Rachael and many other young Australians have endured trying to fight this debilitating disease.

Your tax deductible donation is appreciated and will go a long way to make someone’s life more bearable....... even if it’s only for a few minutes.

Click here to donate and please enter the amount you would like to donate in the donation box.

Adam
I have raised $5,208 so far! Thank you for your support.

Thank you! - Rachael's High Tea

Our family would like to thank everyone involved with this year's  Rachael's High Tea.

Starting with the Wednesday Night girls whose enthusiasm to learn new tasks, dedication week after week, washing dishes, polishing glasses, counting spoons, ironing tablecloths and many, many more.

Mundane boring tasks that were made fun in the company of a wonderful bunch of women with giving hearts and great sense of humour.

To everyone that helped to set up and then pack up, an enormous thank you. Kerry Peach's wonderful group of volunteers who come to help year after year, we can't do Rachael's High Tea without you, thank you all for working all day and doing it with a smile. A special thank you to our new helpers, we hope we haven't scared you off.

Thank you to Harry and Gretel for putting on such a fabulous fashion parade again for us this year.

Thank you to Steph and Glen Murray for their continued support and generous  donations .

Thank you Mary and Steve for all the fruit and vegetables that we needed again this year and to Fernando from Fernando’s Ital Jewellers who donates items for every RDF event.

To our ambassadors Jessica and Mitchell Johnson, thank you for donating prizes yet again and attending the event.

To everyone else that donated however big or small for the auction, we are happy to report that we raised $4,700 from your generosity.

Thank you seems such an understatement when I tell you how much it means to  us to keep Rachael's memory alive in such a way. We all know how much Rach loved  High Tea so I think that wherever  Rachael is we will have made her smile.

Rachael's High Tea raised more than $20,000.00! 100% of tickets sales, auction items and more going straight to the Foundation.

We appreciate everyones support and attendance at the High Tea which sold out in record time again!
