From the above-mentioned points, we can clearly see that both teaching and training are different from each other. Training is a specific program of skill development.

It is a planned and systematic sequence of instruction under a competent trainer. It is a time-bound process. It equips the trainee with mindset and skill set. Teaching, on the other hand, is not as specific as training. Its scope is broad and it often takes years to impart knowledge to learners through the teaching and learning process.

Learning has no end, in fact, there is no age bar for learning. We learn new things every day, no matter if we recognize it or not. Teaching and training are two very common methods of learning, which are often misconstrued by the people, but the fact is teaching is primarily associated with classroom learning, wherein theoretical knowledge of various subjects are provided to the student, as per the opted course. Nowadays, training is a mandatory requirement for every profession, and so every student has to undergo training, to get a thorough knowledge of how work is performed practically in a particular profession. Training is a learning process, wherein a person is given instructions and guidelines, by a professional or expert concerning a specific skill, related to job, for improving the learner's performance. Teaching transfers knowledge from teacher to students orally and students gain this data from listening to it. Training is all about practical skills. Both teaching and training is related with building the competencies of an individual. Mostly, teaching is practiced in schools while training is practiced in workplaces. This article does a small analysis about these two concepts, teaching and training. Teaching is a process of educating a person with theoretical concepts and is a kind of a knowledge transfer between a teacher and a student.

Teaching and learning are important processes that are linked to the acquisition of knowledge, values, traditions, skills, behaviors, etc. These two processes are at the two ends of the knowledge acquisition process.

Both are useful when done effectively, but to understand their role in development, it is necessary to understand their differences. Those responsible for development activities will find it helpful to make the definition very clear within development programs and for those who participate in them. Making the distinction helps to clarify and underscore the objectives and outcomes of each. Teaching is more theoretical and abstract, while training when done well is more hands-on and practical.

Last term I asked my students to provide feedback on the software engineering course I teach. One student reported that, although he liked the course and appreciated that I'd spent most of my career in the "real world," many times he felt that I was doing corporate training rather than teaching. For many years of my business career, it was my responsibility to train clients on the best ways to use the products and services my company sold them. My student's remarks led me to ask myself many questions. Was I really still behaving like a trainer?

The difference between Teaching and Training is that teaching is imparting theoretical knowledge from teachers to students whereas training is the establishment of a certain skill in their students by a trainer. Teaching is imparting theoretical knowledge to someone. It is more of a mind's play.
